The Contemporary Mayan Village in my Film...

You like my first background in guache? This is the small village home of the teen protagonist named Cuauhtémoc Negro. I thought it scanned in pretty well.

Protagonist Character Design...

This is one of my character designs, think he looks to old? Trying to get a 12 to 15 year old, energetic, rambunctious, enthralled in his families plight and athletic looking. Will keep on chipping away at that old block and redefining until I acquire "the look".

Animatic "MAYAN REIGN"

cont. to draw

I have for gotten how awesome it is to draw on paper rather then digitally. Drawing my backgrounds on Strathmore watercolor paper/cold press, will sketch out 2-3 today and hopefully keep up the momentum so that I can color in soon with gauche.

Trying to get back into the groove...

I have been sketching my backgrounds, using a non-photo verithin prisma-color pencil that way when I color in gauche it does not show when scanned. I will sketch all my backgrounds and color then scan throughout the summer, seems like a lot of work but will push forward.

just created my first blog

Welcome to my blog, it is created for my senior thesis film and will be updated on a regular basis, "I hope"... "Mayan reign" is the title and it is about a village boy and his quest to contribute to his family, He finds himself relying on his own accord, his families struggles become his focus and he tries to make a change in his world. He finds out that he has many capabilities to succeed in his quest. So far I have an animatic and am still refining my character designs, also will be doing backgrounds in gauche, and animating in Adobe After Effects CS3 puppets, looking at tutorials and sketching out background and researching perspective drawing technics.
